Mistle Cat was a Kentucky-bred Thoroughbred foaled in 1990, by Storm Cat out of Mistle Toe, by Maribeau. He was bred by Henry A. Fitzgibbon in partnership with Overbrook Farm.

**One of Storm Cat's notable international performers**, Mistle Cat established himself among Europe's accomplished turf runners during the 1996 racing season.

He captured the Prix du Palais-Royal (Group 3) in France before recording his most significant victory in the Premio Vittorio di Capua (Group 1) at Milan, Italy, on October 6, 1996. Ridden by Richard Hughes and trained by Sean Woods, he won the Italian Group 1 over one mile on turf.

His accomplishments earned him recognition as **Italy's highweighted older male of 1996**.

That distinction places Mistle Cat in particularly notable company. Storm Cat, who stood his entire breeding career at Overbrook Farm in Kentucky, became one of the most influential stallions of the modern Thoroughbred era. He twice led the American general sire standings and produced 35 Grade or Group 1 winners, including Giant's Causeway, Tabasco Cat, Storm Flag Flying, Cat Thief, and Mistle Cat.

When Storm Cat died in April 2013, the Daily Racing Form's retrospective on his extraordinary breeding career specifically identified Mistle Cat among his internationally recognized performers.

For Henry Fitzgibbon, Mistle Cat represented a significant breeding accomplishment. His partnership with Overbrook Farm produced a son of one of the world's most influential stallions who competed successfully at the highest level of European racing.

Mistle Cat remains one of the most distinguished horses documented as having been bred by Fitzgibbon. His record provides an important connection between the original Allfitz Farm breeding operation and the history preserved today at Saint Anne's Run.
